Sunny Low-Key Barn Wedding at The Barn at Buttermilk
When Michelle and I met for the first time, she described her wedding as a laid back get together where two people just happen to be getting married. She said there would be food and friends and family and music and lots of love, and I think that was an accurate description!
Heres what I've learned about weddings- they don't need to be fancy. You don't need the most expensive table linens or the 4 course meal, you don't need an extravagant display, you just need two people in love, the rest will work itself out. We've shot formal weddings and we've shot casual weddings, courthouse weddings and destination weddings, but the most consistent thing that each of these weddings has is love, laughter, and the most incredible display of joy I can think of. Our job is kind of selfish, you see, almost a little self indulgent. As much as I love our couples, love that they're sealing the deal, I LOVE the high I get from that joy. I love knowing that we got to be a very small part in the start of such an intricately beautiful journey. I love knowing that our couples will cling to their wedding photos, that their great grandchildren will pour over their albums while showing them to their own children. What I'm saying is, forget the details, the guest list, the dress, and focus on your love. That love will carry you through highs and lows, will dream with you, will care for you. That love is one of the only things that really matters.
Michelle and Michael's day may have been laid back, but it wasn't running low on love. The Barn at Buttermilk made to most beautiful backdrop and even though it was hot outside, their guests were SO excited to see these two tie the knot. Thank you both so much for allowing us to be a part of such a perfect day!
