I am and will forever be an old soul, a twenty something going on 60 something, and thats just the way I like it. I love Christmas, can throw down on some pasta, and live for the bath and body works candle sale. What can I say, I'm a woman with specific tastes.

Midcentury Modern Wedding at The Standard

Dear whoever is reading this at whatever point in time you’re reading it,

You aren’t even a little bit ready.

Theres laughing, crying, and some insanely gorgeous details. We’re talking, “maybe I should start this blog by making it clear this was a real wedding and not a styled shoot” details.

When we first talked to Martie and Logan about their wedding day, we knew it’d be epic. Martie mentioned in her initial inquiry form that Logan was an architecture student and would be designing some custom pieces to incorporate into their day. Which, I mean, cool enough. BUT THEN we bonded over our love of vintage velvet couches during their engagement shoot and we instantly knew it was kismet.

We could say a lot about these two- about the work of art that was their wedding and about them as human beings. They trusted us from the very beginning, totally got our sense of humor, and completely exhibited that “holy shit we’re in love” joy we find ourselves drawn too. They’re our type of people.

One of my very favorite moments on Martie and Logan’s wedding day was every single one of Logan’s groomsmen giving him a giant hug once they got to the end of the aisle. I love the way Logan looks at Martie, like she hung the moon. I love how similar they are but also their differences, how fun their friend group is, how kind their family is. I love that they used my favorite couch (fun fact, I collect couches) in their decor and that they had brunch food catered. I love how uniquely them their day was.

Because Logan is into architecture and design (and so is Martie) they incorporated several insanely cool elements to their day; Logan created the “arbor” and the hanging centerpiece above the head table as well as the stationery. They made balloon arches (and yes, there 100% needs to be more balloons included in wedding days), Logan’s mama created all the florals, and Martie’s mama made the cake. I’m gonna stop typing and encourage you to start scrolling and take a look at how incredibly cool their wedding day was.
